We are passionate about helping people embrace a lifestyle uniquely healthy for them. No one size fits all solutions. No quick fixes. We believe being active and healthy is about staying true to yourself, having fun, striving for balance, and most importantly, enjoying the journey!

After reaching 280+ pounds in 2008, a change was needed. Over a twelve month journey I lost well over one hundred pounds through education, proper nutrition, exercise and finding balance in my life! It wasn't easy and it is still not over, but it was the most rewarding experience of my life! Over seven years working in healthcare didn't teach me how to do this, I had to make the change myself and rely on my friends and family for support. During this time, my biggest frustration was not being able to go to one central place to find everything I needed: educational articles, reviews, gear, services, and (most frustrating) a calendar with all the events in the city in one place. ACTIVEBUYS was created to fill this void, remove as many barriers to active, healthy living as possible and create a resource to support everyone looking to live life to the fullest.

For me, an active, healthy lifestyle has never revolved around a treadmill, running or sports. I grew up as a ballerina and not on the ball field. As an adult, I have learned that you don't have to be a runner to experience a “runner's high.” As a dancer, I loved getting lost in the music, movement and expression which let me escape, so now as an adult my goal is to find my unique "runner's high." Whether it is yoga, Pilates, or my trainer, my ultimate goal is not just about how my jeans fit but how to live a balanced and happy life. To me, it's so important to help others learn about the mental benefits of living a healthy lifestyle and find their way to achieve the lifestyle in the long-term.

"Pony Tail Girl" – my nickname probably says it all.  I'm that crazy type that just loves to run. Running is my happy place.  It kept me sane through starting and growing my own PR firm and still is my safe haven for dealing with the challenges of raising two boys. It's been my mission for the last 10 years to share my excitement for exercise with others.  It truly jazzes me to see people transform through getting healthy.  Watching the light bulb go off and seeing the confidence get boosted is just so cool to me.   It's thrilling that I now have a platform for channeling my enthusiasm.

Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, I moved to Nashville with my husband 11 years ago and instantly fell in love with this part of the country-- four real seasons, beautiful scenery and a safe place to raise our two sons.  I was raised in a home where healthy eating was a priority, and I am just now understanding what a true gift that was.  My professional experience in the healthcare industry, the loss of my father to cancer, and the gift of my two boys have raised my awareness of what it means to be healthy.  I have a renewed excitement about cooking and getting fit and I believe in living life with a smile, gratitude, love and passion.
